Bryan DLS: Ferry

A ferry is the most reliable way for me to get home (I live on an island). They usually run whether it is foggy or not, which is more than you can say for the air transport! There have been trips where the water was rough enough to break windows and have to tie down anything loose!

I think that is awesome I have never talked to anyone that lives on an island. How is it? is it fun? can you see the water from where you live?

Wow, that would be really cool to live on an island. As long as you aren't in a rush to get off of it , I guess.

I would love to go to Africa someday - maybe a safari and Egypt to see the pyramids of Giza.

I did the ferry commute from NJ to NY downtown a few times

When I lived closer to NY city I should have drove up there just to ride the ferry. My son as a teen and his friends would drive to NJ buy the newspaper and turn around and drive back just out of boredom. They did go see the boardwalk a couple of times. I guess I should have hitched a ride from them\.

I used to ride the bus from Altoona Pa to Scranton Pa to see my honey before he bought me a bronco to drive, and I always thought that was so cool when I would hear them announce Port Authority over the speaker....Port Authority....I don't know I just love it , it is a good strong solid name! What is Port Authority?

The Port Authority in Vancouver determines the allowable traffic for areas that are congested, such as under the bridges or through the narrows. They also ensure that customs are adhered to by visiting ships, and check to ensure safety regulations are being met.
